Speakers, and Start-ups, and Gators, Oh My!

You might be wondering where I've been lately, and the truth is, I've been one busy mofo. I recently finished my first term of MBA courses, packed up and relocated to Gainesville, Florida, and have been attending Startup Weekend Gainesville (SWG).

Day 1: Pitchfire round (people giving 60 sec. pitches about their ideas) - Voting on ideas - Networking and team building.

Day 2: Developing pitches, branding, market research, fund raising... (anything else you can think of involved with starting a business)

Day 3: Final presentations, Judging, and Awards

The SWG has been amazing! A whole slew of creatives and intellectuals coming together, pitching ideas,
building teams, and forming the foundations for start-up businesses; all in the matter of 52 hours. I am on the RideMe team, it's an electric bike rental business focusing on ease, accessibility, and efficiency. The energy surrounding this event is contagious and astounding. Programmers tweaking code, developers working on apps, people raising funds, conducting market research, and designers/artists creating logos and images.

If you have the chance to attend a Startup Weekend YOU DEFINITELY SHOULD!

Here's the logo design I created for RideMe:
And an illustration mock-up for an advertisement.
